Torch and Thread is a husband and wife team dedicated to creating handmade items that are both beautiful and functional . Carol, with over 15 years of experience making lampwork glass beads and almost 30 years of making quilts, is passionate about her work and loves to experiment with new designs and techniques. In 2008, Carol developed a technique for creating  COE 104 dichroic glass stringers and  shards, making the sparkle of dichroic glass available to lampworkers without the tendency of dichroic glass to burn and scum.  Gene, initially skeptical about longarm quilting, soon fell in love with it after learning about the machines and tools involved.  In addition to quilting Torch and Thread pieces, Gene also quilts professionally for sewists who do not have a longarm machine. He views this as a collaboration with the quilt top maker, working to bring the quilt top makers vision of their completed quilt into reality. Together, we are committed to producing pieces that will be treasured now and in the future.
